Languages

All classes from Prep to 6 at Mount Martha PS participate in Japanese language lessons for forty - five minutes per week. Japanese is taught via teacher instruction, language videos, songs and games. Students apply that knowledge during conversation activities, listening tasks, team quizzes, games and written activities. Classes are given the opportunity to learn about the Japanese writing system and also learn about Japanese culture, such as annual festivals and origami. Students are encouraged to participate through interactive, cooperative-based learning activities.

Topics studied at each year level in Japanese.
